The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office committed to service the area daily. The company issue established for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of likely sassa status check beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to enable the servicing of all prospects and raise entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
